THE BASICS OF LIGHT PAINTING You will need: 1. Tripod (or something stable for your camera to rest on while it's shooting). 2. Camera capable of shooting slow shutter, (you gotta be able to adjust your settings manually for this to work!) 3. Dark room or night skies 4. Lights, any kind. Flashlights work just fine, cellphones, whatever.. but colors are where it's at.
THE COLOR WHEEL Need to change colors quickly while light painting? Here's an easy flashlight modification you might make much better than I did: THE GEL COLOR-WHEEL items needed: Colored cellophane (or photo gel), bolt & screw, cardboard, tape, velcro, flashlight. Step 1: Measure diameter of flashlight end, make as many holes in cardboard as you like colors the same size. Be sure to test it out and make sure it lines up. Step 2: Attach screw spinner with velcro (or tape). Step 3: Paint the town.
